GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala – Guatemalan Apertura runner-up Municipal announced Monday that head coach Manuel Keosseian had completed his three-month contract and will not be returning to the club.

The Uruguayan was brought back to the Rojos for a third time in September, following the resignation of Anibal Ruiz.  He was previously in charge of the Guatemalan power March-June 2010, winning the 2010 Clausura title, and February-May 2011, finishing as runner-up to Comunicaciones.

Under Keosseian’s leadership, Municipal finished the regular season in third place with 39 points.  It got past Antigua GFC in the quarterfinals (2-1 agg) and Marquense in the semifinals (5-1 agg), before falling to Comunicaciones in the final (3-2 agg).  It also finished runner-up to Pachuca in Group 1 of the 2014/15 CONCACAF Champions League.

In addition to multiple spells with Municipal, Keosseian has also coached Marathon (Honduras), Alajuelense and Saprissa (both Costa Rica), as well as Peñarol, Danubio and Nacional (all Uruguay), among others.
