PORT-AU-PRINCE.- Two of the Caribbean’s rising teams meet again with Haiti hosting Curacao on Tuesday at Port-au-Prince’s Stade Sylvio Cator in Group D of League A.
Saturday night saw an aggressive Curacao top Haiti 1-0 at home, and Marc Collat’s squad will look to get a home win of its own to stay in competition for the CNL final in June.
To do that, Haiti will need to find an answer in the center of the park, where Curacao found the majority of its joy.
That could mean an opportunity for center back Andrew Jean-Baptiste to step back into the defense next to Jems Geffard as he did in Les Grenadiers’ run to the Gold Cup semifinal, or a modification in the middle of the park where Zachary Herrivaux eventually replaced Bryan Alceus.
Duckens Nazon, the top scorer in Nations League qualification, also may be included from the opening whistle.
Curacao would love to nab an away win, though, and assert control in one of the toughest groups in the competition. Juninho Bacuna showed his quality in his international debut and could factor in once again, with his older brother Leandro also likely to repeat his role as the lynchpin of the attack.
